AFTA Celebrates GivingTuesday, joining millions around the world participating in the global generosity movement!

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on December 3rd, and throughout the year.

AFTA has registered as a participating organization with the GivingTuesday initiative. We encourage you to not only support the organization, but to share our campaign with your family, friends and colleagues.

The American Family Therapy Association's (AFTA) mission is to develop, research, teach, and disseminate progressive, just family therapy, and family centered practices and policies. AFTA creates a space for dialogue among a diverse group of interdisciplinary professionals that are committed to advancing the integration of social justice, systems theory, and family therapy practices.

Your gift to AFTA will be used to support our various initiatives and programs, and the emerging leaders in the field of family research theory and therapy (such as graduate students) and professional growth and development opportunities for early career family professionals. More specifically, funds will be used to support:

  • Students and other professionals who belong to marginalized communities.
  • AFTA’s annual meeting and conference, a program which brings together a multidisciplinary group of family professionals and community leaders to engage in critical dialogues on just family therapy practices and policies.
  • AFTA’s Witness to Witness program, a project designed to help the helpers.

GivingTuesday contributions will help AFTA in our efforts to support family professionals’ service to individuals, families and communities with attention to challenging the structural inequities that exist in our society.
