In light of our budgetary constraints, and after careful thought and serious consideration by the AFTA Board of Directors, a decision has been made to restructure the organization and to eliminate the position of Executive Director. The Board believes we can no longer sustain such a position.
Kevin George, our Executive Director since April 2015, was informed of this decision on October 10, 2016. He has been offered a severance package which will provide him with a salary during this transition period.
The office will continue to function with Kim Cox continuing her role as Director of Operations while we work on next steps. We continue to work on the annual membership campaign, implementing a strategic plan, website development, and planning the 2017 conference in Philadelphia with DeAnna Harris-McKoy and Rachel Dash as co-chairs.
We want to thank Kevin for his hard work and dedication to this organization. We wish him much luck and success in his future endeavors.
Jane C. Bardavid, LCSW, AFTA President
