Lawrence Levner has been a social worker for 36 years. His experience includes community organizing, communtiy mental health and family therapy. He trained at the Family Therapy Practice Center of Washington, DC, where he was later Clinical Director and Executive Director. He consults to community and mental health organizations and has a private therapy practice. He is the chair of AFTA's Human Rights Committee and is the author of chapters and articles on couples therapy, work and family issues, and therapy with a family living with AIDS. His interests include the social context of families, feminism, and political issues affecting family life. He is concerned with issues of social justice and human rights.
